Picasso

Students in Mrs. Kim Smith's Art Class were introduced to the life and successful career of famous, Cubist artist, Pablo Picasso. Her fourth and fifth grade students created an artwork titled, "Roll-a-Picasso!" During the production process, artists rolled large dice which gave them numbers they used to match up to a chart of facial features. The outcome would give them their Picasso faces. Many students added extra details such as hair, hats, mustaches, etc. The overall experience taught student to think outside of the box. Students realized it was alright if both eyes were not level, or a nose was crooked. In life, it is okay to not be perfect. Mrs. Smith loved seeing how proud her students were of their creations.
