The Dot...the rest of the story!

Center Elementary students took part in celebrating International Dot Day on September 15th. During their time in Art class that week, students in grades K-5  expressed their creativity by designing different types of dots. This collection of artwork is a symbol of never giving up and never saying the words “I can’t”,  a strong message taught in Mrs. Smith’s Art class everyday. The same message is portrayed in the book titled The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds for which Dot Day is celebrated.

Kindergarten through third grade students produced their dotted dots by using Q-Tips and acrylic paints in various colors on cardstock paper. The 4th and 5th grade students created their colorful dots on cardstock paper, using sharpie markers and watercolor paints.  All circular masterpieces are a reminder to these students to “leave their mark wherever they go!”
