Congratulations to the January 2023 Classified Golden Achievement Award for Wacona Elementary School, Cafeteria Manager Ms. Kathy King. While her day-to-day duties vary from preparing meals to ordering food items and monitoring food safety, it is obvious she enjoys working in a school setting and providing a positive and uplifting meal experience for the staff and students. Ms. King, along with her staff, truly cares about the students at Wacona and works tirelessly to provide them with nutritious food made with loving hands. Best of all, Ms. King always has a sunny outlook. As for her favorite school meal? That’s an easy one: baked chicken with a side of broccoli and cheese. We are so thankful Ms. King is a part of the Wacona family and appreciate her efforts!
