Matthew Johnson, SRO at Waresboro Elementary School, is the November 2022 Classified Golden Achievement Award Winner. Principal Dr. Biff Lee recognized Officer Johnson with the following statement:
“I am honored to recognize Officer Matthew Johnson as the classified Golden Achievement recipient for Waresboro Elementary for the 2022-2023 school year. Officer Johnson has served as the School Resource Officer at our school for 4 years.
“He began his career in law enforcement in 2013 for the Ware County Sheriff's Department and became a deputy in 2015. Prior to this, Officer Johnson served in the U.S. Army for 8 years.
“Officer Johnson works daily to ensure that we are all safe at the ‘Boro. He begins and ends each and every day opening car doors for our students. He works diligently each day to ensure our students and staff are safe."
