Ruskin Principal

Ware County Schools is proud to announce Dr. Erin Harvey as the new principal of Ruskin Elementary School.

A Waycross native, Dr. Harvey began her educational career in Ware County in 2009 and brings 17 years of experience as a teacher, coach, and educational leader. Throughout her career, she has served students across multiple grade levels and subject areas, including English Language Arts, science, and social studies. In addition to her work in the classroom, she has coached high school basketball and middle school soccer, basketball, and volleyball.

Dr. Harvey is passionate about helping students and colleagues build confidence, discover their strengths, and reach their full potential. She believes in empowering others through encouragement, collaboration, and meaningful opportunities for growth.

“I lead with compassion, integrity, and a servant’s heart,” said Dr. Harvey. “Strong leadership begins with building relationships, earning trust, and creating an environment where others feel valued and empowered to succeed.”

She believes one of the small things that makes a big difference in a school is ensuring people feel supported and encouraged. Through consistency, accountability, and relationship-building, Dr. Harvey strives to create a positive school culture where students, staff, and families feel valued and connected.

Beyond education, Dr. Harvey is a recent inductee into the Waycross-Ware County Sports Hall of Fame, reflecting both her athletic accomplishments and her longstanding impact on the local community.

Most importantly, she is a proud wife to Terence Harvey and devoted mother to Terence II, Gabriel, and Amira.

Please join Ware County Schools in welcoming Dr. Harvey to the Ruskin Elementary family!
