Get to Know Max Stieve

Ware County Schools is proud to welcome Mr. Max Stieve as the new Principal of Waresboro Elementary School.

A Brantley County native and fifth-generation educator, Mr. Stieve brings more than 12 years of experience in education and leadership to the Waresboro community. His career has included roles in the classroom, coaching, athletic leadership, and school administration, all of which have helped shape his student-centered approach to leadership.

Mr. Stieve says his passion for education began early.

“I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. My brother and I even graduated college together with our teaching degrees. It’s a family career that stretches across many generations.”

Throughout his career, he has remained motivated by the opportunity to help students succeed and prepare for life beyond graduation.

“As a high school administrator, there was nothing better than seeing students walk across the stage heading to college, trade school, into a career, or into the armed forces.”

As Principal of Waresboro Elementary, Mr. Stieve believes strong relationships are at the heart of effective leadership.

“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

He emphasizes high expectations, meaningful relationships, and intentional communication with students, staff, and families. He also believes schools are strongest when communities are actively involved and connected.

“Waresboro Elementary is a community school at its roots, and it takes a community effort to see the school continue to flourish.”

Above all, Mr. Stieve says he is most proud of his role as a husband and father. He and his wife, Ashley, are parents to Camden, Charlee, Johnnie, and Baylor.

Ware County Schools is excited to welcome the Stieve family to Waresboro Elementary and looks forward to a strong year ahead under his leadership.

It’s a great day to be an Eagle!
