GAEL Vision Award Winner

Ware County Schools has been recognized as a 2025–2026 Georgia Association of Educational Leaders (GAEL) Vision Award recipient. The award was presented during the recent GAEL Winter Conference in Athens, Georgia, which brings together educational leaders from across the state for collaboration, learning, and leadership development.

The GAEL Vision Award honors school systems that demonstrate a sustained commitment to leadership development and meaningful engagement in professional learning and statewide advocacy. Districts selected for this recognition show intentional support for educators at every level while actively participating in GAEL initiatives that strengthen leadership capacity across Georgia’s public schools.

“Receiving the GAEL Vision Award is a meaningful affirmation of the work our educators and leaders do every day,” said Dr. Lynn Barber, Superintendent of Ware County Schools. “We believe strong leadership is built through shared learning, thoughtful collaboration, and a willingness to engage beyond our district. This recognition reflects our commitment to growing educators and leaders who are prepared to serve students, staff, and our community with purpose.”

The GAEL Winter Conference provides a statewide forum for professional learning, policy discussions, and leadership growth, offering districts opportunities to exchange ideas and strengthen systems of support for educators. Recognition through the Vision Award places Ware County Schools among districts that prioritize long-term leadership development and continuous improvement.
