Congratulations to our certified and classified Golden Achievement Award winners for the month of November 2025. These honorees are from Waresboro Elementary School, and Principal Dr. Biff Lee recognized them at the recent board meeting with these notable remarks:
"I am honored to recognize Mrs. Michelle Boyd as the certified Golden Achievement recipient for Waresboro Elementary for the 2025-2026 school year. Mrs. Boyd has worked as an educator for 23 years as a fourth grade and first grade teacher. We have been blessed to have her at Waresboro for the past three years as one of our 1st grade teachers.
"To know Mrs. Boyd is to love Mrs. Boyd. She has unwavering patience and empathy for her students and respect from her colleagues. In addition, Mrs. Boyd came to us with a wealth of knowledge in not only content but also in the science of reading. This area is not only her passion, but her mission. Each year, she tasks herself with teaching EVERY child to read. This objective has driven her to seek out more knowledge and take charge of her own professional development. In turn, it has led her to volunteer to participate in LETRS training, a work-intensive, two-year program grounded in the science of reading. Characteristic of Mrs. Boyd, she welcomes the work to become a master reading teacher. We are beyond blessed to have Mrs. Boyd as part of our staff and lives.
"I am honored to recognize Officer Chris Aldridge as the classified Golden Achievement recipient for Waresboro Elementary for the 2025-2026 school year. Officer Aldridge is currently in his second year as the School Resource Officer for Waresboro Elementary. In a very short time, it is safe to say that Officer Aldridge may have become the most beloved staff member at the Boro. He begins his day by opening car doors and happily greeting students and their parents. There are certain students who struggle getting out of the car in the morning, unless Officer Aldridge is the one opening their door. I cannot tell you how many times parents have dropped off breakfast to him in the morning car rider line.
"Officer Aldridge also works tirelessly, ensuring that we are safe. He is constantly walking through the school, greeting students and staff, working in the lunchroom, lending a helping hand, and going outside in all types of weather while our students are at recess. Officer Aldridge is a prime example of someone who loves his job and makes it his mission to make others feel loved and important."
We are so proud of both of these outstanding individuals and congratulate them on receiving this honor! They are pictured with (far left) Dr. Biff Lee, Superintendent Barber, and (far right) Board Chairman Barry Deas.
