Debra Ann “Debbie” Taft is the July 2025 Golden Achievement Award Winner and the Okefenokee District Bus Driver of the Year!

With 27 years and 9 months of dedicated service, Mrs. Taft is well-known and loved. Described by Director of Transportation Alonzo Scott as one of Ware County’s hardest-working employees, Mrs. Taft consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that students are transported safely every day. Her dedication, loyalty, and team spirit shine in everything she does, whether it’s picking up a student in need, mentoring a new driver, or stepping in to help her coworkers without hesitation.

Known for her wisdom, generosity, and unwavering commitment, Mrs. Taft sets the standard for excellence across the entire Transportation Department. Her passion for students and her fellow drivers is nothing short of inspiring.
