Congratulations to Ware County Schools’ Parent Mentor Ms. Kim Gibson (left), winner of the Phil Pickens Mentor Leadership Award!
Mandy Harper (right), Director of Student Services and Special Education, nominated Ms. Gibson for this statewide honor, which is presented to one Parent Mentor to recognize outstanding leadership in the collaborative work between school, home, and community to improve the outcome for students with disabilities. The award also recognizes superlative leadership accomplishments in special education and remarkable contributions to the Georgia Parent Mentor Partnership program.
"Ms. Gibson has been a tremendous support for me as a director, our staff, families, and students as she often goes above and beyond her typical duties for the good of our kids,” noted Ms. Harper.
