Camp H. is the District Fair Bear Writing Competition Winner

Williams Heights Elementary 4th grader Camp H. has won the District Fair Bear Creative Writing Competition! He first competed for the best in his grade level, then progressed to compete for best in the school system. Camp's story will now be forwarded to the Georgia National Fair to compete against stories from all over Georgia. The top three winners from each grade level will win a trip to the State Fair in Perry, GA to accept their awards and listen as the Grand Prize Winner is announced.

This year's story theme was "Fair Bear's Favorite Holiday Tradition". Camp's story was about Fair Bear visiting his grandfather at a nursing home on Veteran's Day.  Camp based his story on his own experiences visiting his grandfather, a World War II Navy Veteran, at Baptist Village on Sundays.

We are so proud of Camp, and want to thank his WINGS teacher, Mrs. Lorie Smith, for all of her help and encouragement. Best of luck to him at State!
