As the school year winds down, Ware County educators are continuing to invest in the work that matters most: helping students become strong, confident readers.
Recently, K–2 teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators participated in professional learning focused on the Science of Reading and structured literacy practices. During the session, participants explored how the brain learns to read, strengthened their understanding of phonics instruction, and made connections to orthographic mapping, vocabulary, and comprehension.
The training provided educators with hands-on opportunities to practice instructional strategies that support foundational literacy development in young learners. Through collaboration and active learning, participants deepened their understanding of how sounds, symbols, and meaning work together as students build reading skills.
Ware County Schools remains committed to supporting high-quality literacy instruction across the district. By continuing to grow professionally and sharpen their instructional practices, our educators are helping lay a strong foundation for student success, one reader at a time.
