A Morning Routine Is a Gift to the Whole Family
With school just around the corner, this is a great week to start practicing the morning routine. Try waking up a little earlier each day, eating breakfast before rushing out the door, and limiting screen time first thing in the morning. Small changes now can make the first week of school feel much less stressful.

Help Your Child Become a Problem Solver
When your child comes to you with a problem, resist the urge to solve it immediately. Instead, ask, "What do you think would be a good next step?"
Children grow when they're given the opportunity to think through challenges, consider solutions, and learn from the outcome. Our goal isn't to remove every obstacle. It's to help them build the confidence to overcome them.

Children notice when we're distracted far more than we realize. Tonight, try putting everyone's phones away for just 20 minutes. Play a game. Sit on the porch. Take a walk. Toss a football. Talk while folding laundry.
Your child may not remember exactly what you talked about, but they'll remember how it felt to have your full attention.

If your family or children are experiencing housing instability or an increased risk of homelessness at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, please contact Sandra Osburn, McKinney-Vento Liaison, after July 24, 2025, at 912-283-8656 or by email at sosburn@ware.k12.ga.us. Mrs. Osburn will help you determine if your family qualifies for McKinney-Vento services.
