Wacona Elementary School is beginning a new community partnership with the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Incorporated, Delta Zeta Chapter, which has selected Wacona as its adopted school for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Representatives of the Delta Zeta Chapter recently visited Wacona to formally recognize the partnership and present the school with a Certificate of Partnership.
Under the leadership of Chapter President Carol Reed and Vice President Karen Ethridge, members plan to work alongside Principal Jeri Ray and the Wacona Elementary faculty and staff to support students and families through a variety of activities during the school year.
The partnership will begin with Red Ribbon Week activities in October. The chapter also plans to assist Wacona families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons, with additional opportunities for service and support throughout the year.
The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Incorporated is an organization of educators committed to education, service, and supporting children and communities. Through the adopted school initiative, the Delta Zeta Chapter hopes to build lasting relationships with Wacona students and staff while providing meaningful support where it is needed.
Ware County Schools appreciates the Delta Zeta Chapter's investment in Wacona Elementary and its willingness to partner with the school in serving students and families.
