Happy New Year Ruskin Jaguar Family and Friends!!

I hope this greeting meets you with lots of joy as we have received grace to enter 2023 with new aspirations, goals, and projects for a bright future at THE Ruskin Elementary School.

With great joy, I wish to announce that Ruskin Elementary School has recently been removed from the Georgia Department of Education's Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) list. This removal is due to the increased content mastery and increased student progress shown on the 2021-2022 Georgia Milestones (GMAS) results.

Faculty & Staff, you have made unmatched efforts to bring about this success and changed every obstacle into opportunity. You believed in and pushed students beyond what they could imagine. You went beyond "buy in" to making "intentional investments" into the mission and vision of Ruskin Elementary. You know the work has not been easy. However, the fruit you are bearing within our students speaks volumes. With that, I congratulate you on your tremendous efforts and I hope you continue to shine and collaborate as we continue the noble work of teaching children. You invest your time and energy, day in and out, to foster the growth of our students and I applaud you!! Our students are to be commended on their hard work and achievements! And now, as we rapidly approach another season of culminating academic assessments, I know you will continue to propel our students to greatness.

Parents and guardians, thank you for sending your students to school on time everyday so they do not miss any instruction. Thank you for challenging your students and questioning them on what they are learning each day, asking them to explain information to you, and taking the time to listen to your children. Thank you for requiring your students to read at home. Thank you for requiring your children to be Ready, Respectful, & Responsible. And thank you for supporting the faculty and staff as they "go all in" to educate your children.

Community members, thank you for your support. There are many of you who contact me often and ask how you can offer support....ask what we need or you graciously send items our way to support the faculty, staff, and students. I commend you for investing and assisting us to ensure our students receive opportunities for increased educational outcomes despite the low socioeconomic status challenges of our school.

I offer a grand thank you to the Ware County Schools Board of Education members and Supt. Smith, all Ware County Schools directors and coordinators, Georgia Department of Education supporters, Okefenokee Regional Education Service Agency supporters, faculty & staff, parents & guardians, students, stakeholders and the entire Ware County community for all support given to Ruskin Elementary School during this process of growth.

Respectfully,

Principal Donna Solomon
