Center Elementary School hosted its annual school Spelling Bee on Friday, January 18th in the school's Media Center. Fifth grader Candace A. is the Spelling Bee Champion, while fellow classmate Rhianna D. is runner-up. Hector E. placed third in the school's competition. Candace will advance to the district's spelling competition to face winners from other schools in the district on February 4th.

Mrs. Pam Perritt served as Center's moderator for the event, and Mrs. Frankie Royer and Mr. Tom Cribb served as judges. Mrs. Altman stated, "I cannot thank the students for their participation in this event, and I am excited for our school winner and runner-up. I know that they will represent us well in the competition."

Principal Tyler Bennett stated, "It was a joy to watch these students as they had fun competing in this year's event. I also want to thank Mrs. Altman for her hard work in putting this event on for us, and to Mrs. Perritt, Mrs. Royer, and Mr. Cribb, I want to send a huge thanks for helping moderate and judge this year's event. I am extremely proud of all of our students who participated, and I am excited for our winner and runner-up. I know that they will represent us well at the district!"
