Mrs. Shirley Nettles and Ms. Jamesha Shelton would like to recognize one of their fifth-grade scholars for an outstanding achievement that he reached in the Accelerated Reader (A.R.) program today! Alan L. has now earned 100 A.R. points with a 100% average! The A.R. program is computer-based and schools use it to monitor reading practice and progress. It also helps to guide students to books that are on their individual reading levels. Once a student reads a book, he/she takes a short quiz to check for understanding of what he or she has read. The A.R. program helps students improve and expand their reading fluency and comprehension which grows readers.
