Wacona Elementary School's Georgia Quiz Bowl Team 1 was awarded the first place trophy in a Georgia Quiz Bowl Competition held on February 11, 2019; the competition was held at Wacona Elementary School.
Wacona Elementary Team 1, consisting of 5th graders Kierra A. (captain), Ryan P., Jackson R., and Waylon S., achieved first place with no losses. Team 2 was composed of third and fourth graders, including Maleek M. (captain), Brody H., Vaylen H., and Noah P.. Both teams worked hard this year and represented their school well.
Quiz bowl team members must be knowledgeable in the areas of arts and literature, sports and leisure, history, geography, and government. The team is under the leadership of teachers Shanna Johnson and Krystal Kimbrell. Mrs. Johnson and Ms. Kimbrell are very proud of their team’s performance. GO WACONA HORNETS!
