Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

Daffodil students celebrated Martin Luther King’s Day by rotating to complete friendship activities on Friday, January 17th. One activity, led by Dr. Johnson and Mrs. Beach, was students creating friendship necklaces. Students from one classroom were paired with students from another classroom. Students made necklaces using pony beads and exchanged them with their new friends. Another activity, led by Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Young, was an experiment comparing brown eggs to white eggs. Even though the eggs look different on the outside, they both contain the same thing on the inside. This reminds the students that we are all like the eggs, different on the outside but the same feelings on the inside. The last activity, led by Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Deloach, was students working together to construct a memorial to Martin Luther King using blocks. All the classes combined at the end of the activities to eat Original Oreo and Golden Vanilla Oreos, which look different on the outside but are the same on the inside!
