Dr. Mondeshia Shawnte’ (Shawn) Benefield is a native of Waycross and the daughter of the late Leon Reid and Gloria Reid. She has been married to Isaac Benefield III for 21 years. They have three amazing children. One daughter, Aliyah, and two sons, Dallas and Uriah. She has been employed by the Ware County Board of Education for over twenty years. She started her teaching career after serving as a substitute teacher for the county at Memorial Drive Elementary School in 2000. She taught there for 14 years before becoming an Assistant Principal at Wacona Elementary. Dr. Benefield remained an Assistant Principal for 4 years. She had the pleasure of returning back to Memorial Drive this previous school year as the principal. This school year she is thrilled about being the new principal at Ware Middle School. Dr. Benefield and her family are active members of Saint Paul New Life Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Reginald McPherson and Lady Sharon McPherson. She serves as a prayer warrior, deaconess, and leads the Covenant Sisters Women’s Ministry. She has a passion for assisting women with overcoming their barriers and provides positive coaching to aid them in achieving their goals. When she is not actively engaged in these activities, she spends quality time with her family, reads and listens to self-help material, and watches inspirational movies.
