Gator Athletics Results 9/12/2024:
Unfortunately due to weather and field conditions, our Varsity Softball team had to cancel and reschedule with Wayne County. Also falling to the weather was our cross country team that was slated to travel to Jeff - Davis for a multi team event.
-Volleyball traveled to Wayne County for a Region Playdate. The Gators fell to Perry in two straight sets, fell to Warner Robins in a 1 - 2 set and also fell to Wayne in 2 straight sets.
-9th Grade football hosted the Wildcats of Camden County and defeated them by a score of 28 - 7.
-JV Football went on the road to Camden County and came away with the 40 - 0 victory over the Wildcats.

-Softball hosted Warner Robins in a double header Region 1 - AAAA showdown out at Gator Field. In game one, the Lady Gators won by a score of 11 - 3 and also defeated the Demons in game two by a score of 14 - 2. Congrats to Coack Kirkland, her staff, and players on a great showing.
-Volleyball was on the road to Hinesville to take on the Tigers of Bradwell Institute. The Lady Gators fell in two sets to the Tigers. Set one by a score of 21 - 25 and in set two by a score of 26 - 28.

-Cross Country hosted a multi team event at the High School. Congrats to the girls for finishing 4th and the boys for winning the meet. You can find individual results online at the cross country website.
-Varsity Football hosted Bartram Trail at Memorial Stadium in Waycross. The Gators almost overcame a 21 point deficit in the first quarter but ultimately fell to the Bears in Overtime by a score of 42 - 43.

The Ware County Gators and Lady Gators cross country teams competed in the Jekyll Island Invitational on Saturday 8/31/24. The Gators ran at 7:15 AM and the Lady Gators ran at 7:55 AM. The Gators placed 24th overall as a team in the 29 team field and the Lady Gators did not field a full team and did not participate in the team competition. Running for the Gators were Caleb Wise (11th grade) placing 70th with a time of 18:36, Brayten Hood (9th grade) placing 119th with a time of 19:55, Da’Marion Zanders (11th grade) placing 137th with a time of 20:31, Wesley Frye (11th grade) placing 160th with a time of 22:10, Stephen Valdez (12th grade) placing 167th with a time of 22:24, and Hayden Clement (12th grade) placing 182nd with a time of 24:14. There were 196 runners in the Boy’s varsity race. Running for the Lady Gators were Destiny Mendoza (11th grade) placing 58th with a time of 23:28, Karla Calvillo (10th grade) placing 131st with a time of 28:08, Miracle Patterson (11th grade) placing 139th with a time of 29:16, Madison Donlon (12th grade) placing 166th with a time of 35:07, and Ariana Compton (10th grade) who did not finish the race due to injury. The cross country teams will be competing at home on Thursday 9/5/24. There will be 2 races. The Girls combined V/JV race will begin at 4:30 PM and the Boys combined V/JV race will begin at 5:15. -Lady Gator Softball hosted Glynn Academy and fell by a score of 13 - 0.
-Volleyball hosted Tattnall County and Liberty County. We defeated Tattnall in 3 sets 2 - 1 and also defeated Liberty County in two sets by a score of 2 - 0. Congrats to Coach Gibson on their efforts.
- 9th Grade football went on the road to Appling County and defeated the Pirates by a score of 36 - 32.
-JV Football hosted Valdosta and defeated the Wildcats by a score of 14 - 0, so a huge congrats to Coach Strickland and his staff and players as they try to go 3 - 0 on the week.
*We also want to thank South Carolina State University’s Band for coming out for the first half and performing their halftime show.
