Athletic Results 2/22/2024: JV Baseball team Jeff - Davis - and fell by a score of 8 - 2. Our Tennis teams hosted Jeff - Davis at WCHS High School. The girls fell short by an overall score of 0 - 5. The Boys defeated Jeff - Davis by a team score of 4 - 1. James Willingham, William Bates, and Isaiah Collins each won their individual singles matches and teammates Nick Simmons and Cash Carter won their set for doubles; for a team set score of 4 - 1. Congrats to these Gator Tennis Players for their efforts yesterday. The Gator Girls Golf team defeated Camden by a score of 143 to 150. Anniston Grantham was the low medalist for the day with a score of 43. Congratulations to the Girls Golf Team for their great efforts today. Go Gators!

Athletic Results 2/21/2024: JV Baseball defeated Jeff - Davis by a score of 7 - 5. Varsity Basketball fell in the first round of the GHSA 5A State Playoffs by a score of 79 - 55 and end the season. Huge thanks to Coach Lenny Williams, Coach David Carroll, Coach Jason Lanier, Ms. Jen Roberts, and all support staff as well as the entire faculty and student body for all of their support this season. -Tennis hosted Fitzgerald out at WCHS. The girls defeated the Hurricane by a score of 5 - 2 with an individual set win of 6 - 3 from Mattie Lingenfelter and doubles wins from Kamiyah Green and Paislee Wildes and the team of Ryleigh Wilson and Jordan Wright. On the Boys side, the Gators had a match win with a score of 5 - 0. Individual set wins came from James Willingham, William Bates, and Isaiah Collins. Doubles wins came from the teams of Tyler Monroe and JV Manabat as well as Nick Simmons and Cash Carter. -In Baseball action, the JV team hosted Wayne County out at WCHS and came away with the 3 - 2 win. -In Soccer action, the JV Girls traveled to Coffee County and defeated the Trojans by a score of 3 - 1, while the JV Boys traveled to Valdosta and fell by a score of 2 - 1. -The Gator Wrestlers are in Macon at the GHSA 5A State Tournament and competing well. Currently we are tied in 15th place with several wrestlers still in the championship bracket while the rest are wrestling for valuable placement points. Athletic Results: 2/14/2024 -Tennis Teams hosted Savannah Christian at WCHS. All three individual girls as well as both doubles teams won their sets to win the match by a score 5 - 0. As far as the boys team goes, Jacob Paige won his set by a score of 8 - 3 and both doubles teams won their sets to end the day with a match score of 3 - 2. Congrats to the Gator Tennis teams. -The JV Baseball team traveled over to Wayne County to take on the Yellow Jackets. The Gators defeated the Yellow Jackets by a score of 20 - 9. -Our Basketball Teams traveled to Statesboro High School for Round of the Region 1 - 5A tournament against Bradwell Institute. The Lady Gators defeated Bradwell by a score of 48 - 23 and will play for the Region Championship on Friday at 7:00 PM. The Varsity Boys fell in overtime by a score of 63 - 58 and will be playing for the three seed at 5:30 PM on Friday. Both games will be at Statesboro High School.

Athletics Results 2/13/2024: -Soccer traveled to Tift County to take on the Blue Devils. The Varsity Girls traveled to Tifton to take on the 7A Tift County Blue Devils. The Lady Gators fell early 3 - 0 and battled back in the second half to a 4 - 3 loss. Molly Smith, Arianna Davis, and Raleigh Tuten each scored goals, while Molly Smith’s attacking defense earned her Woman of the Match Honors. -The Varsity Boys also took on 7A Tift County and fell in a hard fault defensive battle by a score of 1 - 0. Cole Thrift won the Player of the Game Award for his efforts. -Also in action yesterday our Baseball team hosted the Terrors from Glynn Academy. The Gators came away with the convincing 8 -1 win. Players of the Game were Evan Joiner and Cole Cox on the mound as well as Evan Pearson, all three with outstanding performances in the win. Congratulations to the Gator Baseball Team as well as the entire coaching staff on the season opening home win. Go Gators!

Athletic Results 2/8/2024: In tennis action, our teams took on Tattnal County at WCHS. The Lady Gators secured a hard-fought victory with a match score of 3 - 2, led by standout performances from Mattie Lingenfelter, Maykayla Moore, and Madison Roberts. On the boys' side, our team scored the victory with a match score of 4 - 1, thanks to stellar play from James Willingham, William Bates, and doubles teams Tyler Monroe and JV Manabat, as well as Nick Simmons and Cash Carter. In soccer, our Girls Soccer team traveled to Long County, where they faced a talented Blue Tide. Despite a valiant effort, our girls fell short with a final score of 2 - 1. Ariana Davis earned Woman of the Match honors for her impressive goal. The Varsity Boys also faced a tough opponent, ultimately falling with a score of 4 - 2. Will Hines stood out as Player of the Match for his outstanding performance on the field. Go Gators!

Gator Athletic Results 2/7/2024: Ware County High School's athletic teams had an eventful day on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024, with noteworthy achievements in both swimming and JV tennis. Sophie Cochran made a splash at the GHSA 5A State Championship swim meet, posting an impressive time of 26.38 in the 50 free. While victory eluded the swim team, the boys' relay squads, featuring standout performers Joshua Smith, Matthew McIntire, Evan Chaney, and Matthew Davis, etched their names with a new school record set by the 200 freestyle relay team. On the tennis courts, the JV teams had competitive matchups against Glynn Academy. The JV Girls finished with a score of 1-4, while the JV Boys put up a great fight but ultimately fell short with a score of 2-3. Go Gators!

Athletic Events 2/7/2024: Swim @ GHSA State Swim Meet (Georgia Tech Aquatics Center) Schedule is as follows: SWIMMING – All Swimming Events Will be Conducted at Georgia Tech Wednesday, February 7, 2024 – 1-3A and 4-5A Swimming 7:30 am – 9:20 am – 1-5A Swimming Warmup 9:30 am – 1:00 pm – 1-5A Swimming Prelims 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm –1-3A and 4-5A Swimming Warmup 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm –1-3A and 4-5A Swimming Finals Prelims for all 1-5A schools will be conducted in two 10 lane courses. The boys events will swim in the west pool (by the main scoreboard) and the girls will swim in the east pool by the diving well). Finals will be swum in two 10 lane courses simultaneously, the 4-5A schools will swim the east pool, the 1-3A schools will swim in the west pool. JV Tennis will travel to Glynn for a 4:00 PM start time. Go Gators!

Athletics Results 2/6/2024: -Soccer traveled over to Camden County to take on the Wildcats.  The Lady Gators fell to Camden County by a score of 0 - 8.  The Lady Gators gave up some early goals and were never able to recover.  Molly Chinn’s midfield performance earned her Woman of the Match Awards.  The Lady Gators are now 1 - 1 overall.  Our Boys Team fell to the Wildcats by a score of 0 - 3.  Berron Bennett earned the player of the game for the Gators for his defensive efforts.  -Girls Tennis team fell to Bacon by a set score of 1 - 4 while our Boys Tennis Team defeated Bacon by a set score of 3 - 2.  For the Girls our Doubles Team came away with the victory with the duo of Kamiyah Green and Paislee Wildes, while the Boys came away with individual victories from James Willingham and both doubles teams consisting of the duo of Tyler Monroe and JV Manabat and Nick Simmons and Cash Carter. -Coach Kimberly Nettles and Coach Maurice England carried the Gator Guns over to Savannah to take on the Windsor Forest Knights.  The Gators Guns defeated the Knights by a score of 1141 with 58 center shots to the Knights 997 with 20 center shots.  Top Gators for the evening were Makayla Whitley with a score of 290, Austin Griffis with a score of 286, also scoring 286 was Gabrielle Howard; Neve Smoak scored 279, while Harper Petty scored 278.  Macy Tatum scored 268, and Shonda Mosely scored 262.  Congrats to these Gator shooters on an awesome meet. Athletic Results 2/5/2024 The Gator Soccer teams hosted Brantley County.  Our Lady Gators defeated the Herons by a score of 3 - 0.  Goal scorers were Raleigh Tuen, Arianna Davis, and Qetzi Sanchez.  Madison Sweat’s defensive performance earned her the Woman of the Match Honors.  In Boys action, the Gators defeated the Herons by a score of 4 - 1 in a very wet match.  Thomas Hoyt scored two, Yair Dixon scored one, and Jergeon Sepulvada sored one.  Thomas Hoyt was the player of the match. Athletic Results 2/3/2024: The Gator Wrestling team headed over to Coffee County to compete in the Region 1 - 5A Traditional Tournament. The Gators finished second with 234 points to Coffee's 250.5. Individual Results are as follows: Steve Valdez - 3rd, Jordan Maxwell - 2nd, Damarion Zanders 3rd, Rodrigo Reyes - 2nd, Evan Thomas - 4th, Jaden McKelvin - 1st, Kayden Drury - 3rd, Zy Ramsey - 2nd, Gunter Fore - 2nd, Cameron Hambrick - 1st (Rgion Champ) Wyatt Deal - 1st (Region Champ) Noah Lucas - 2nd, Jalen Hampton - 4th, Jebare George - 1st (Region Champ).
