
Athletic Reuslts 2/11/2025:
Girls and Boys Tennis Teams hosted Brantley County at the High School. The Girls fell in the match by a set score of 1 - 4. We got the doubles win with Madison Roberts and Kayleigh LeMay. The Boys fell in the match by a set score of 0 - 5. Our Varsity Girls Soccer Team hosted Brantley County at the Soccer Complex. The Lady Gators defeated the Lady Herons by a score of 6 - 2. Our Varsity Boys also hosted Brantley County and came away with the victory by a score of 10 - 0. Finally, our Baseball Team hosted Coffee County at Gator Field. The Gators defeated the Trojans by a score of 8 - 3. Congratulations to all of our athletes and coaches on a great day in the Swamp.

Athletic Results 2/10/2025:
Our Varsity Basketball teams traveled to Warner Robins to compete in the Region 1 - AAAA Tournament in Warner Robins. The Lady Gators defeated Wayne County by a score of 38 - 33 and will move on to the Championship finals on Wednesday at 7:00 PM against Warner Robins. The Boys fell by a score of 67 - 55 and will play in the consolation finals on Wednesday at 5:30 PM. JV Soccer went on the road to Jeff - Davis to take on the Yellow Jackets. The JV Girls won by a score of 5 - 1 while the JV Boys fell to the Jackets by a score of 2 - 0. Rifle competed against Brunswick and the Gators shot an 1144 with 58 centers and Brunswick shot an 1129 - 50 centers. Varsity Baseball traveled to Colquitt County and took on the Packers. The Gators came away with the win by a score of 10 - 4.

Athletic Results 2/8/2025:
-Wrestling was in Harris County for the GHSA AAAA Sectional 1. The Gators finished 6th overall and qualified 8 wrestlers for the GHSA AAAA State Wrestling tournament. At 113, Jordan Maxwell finished 6th, at 144, Jaden McKelvin finished 8th, at 150, Kayden Drury finished 8th, at 157, Gunter Fore finished 8th, at 165, David Muchison finished 2nd, at 175, Cameron Hambrick finished 8th, at 215, Jalen Hampton finished 8th, and at 285, Kyler Matthews finished 8th. Congratulations to these guys and the coaching staff.
-Our Bass Fishing Team also had a great day on the water at Lake Oconee as two teams qualified for the State Tournament; they were Two teams qualified for State. Evan Geiger and Mason Tyre with Captain Alvin Thrift Cody gay and clary Kinnon with Captain Wendell Bagley.

Congratulations to WCHS Rifle team members Gabbie Howard for shooting a 293(20x) and Camdyn Thornton shooting a 293(19x)!
They both qualified for State this year!

Swim:
Sophie Cochran competed well at the GHSA State Swim Championships. Sophie finished 17th in the Girls 100 yard Freestyle, setting a new school record with a time of 57.01.
Soccer Vs. Lowndes:
Soccer hosted Lowndes at the soccer complex in a season opening scrimmage.
-The Varsity Girls fell by a score of 1 - 4.
-The Varsity Boys also fell by a score of 1 - 4.
Baseball Vs. Effingham
Gator Baseball travelled over to Effingham County for their season opening scrimmage and fell by a score of 0 - 8.

Rifle vs. Bradwell Institute:
The Gators came out on top with the following scores. Ware shot an 1153 with 71 Centers, Bradwell shot a 987 with 16 centers.
Tennis:
-Varsity Tennis teams hosted Berrien County at the High School for their season opener. The Lady Gators fell to Berrien in five straight sets. The Boys won five straight sets to win the match.
Swim:
-At the state Swim meet, Sophie Cochran swam a qualifying time of 58.42 in the 100 Yard Freestyle Prelims. She will be swimming in the State Championship representing the Gators at the Georgia Tech Aquatics Center Thursday 2/6/2025.

Rifle:
-Ware over Statesboro with a score of 1153 with 67 Centers, Statesboro shot a great match with a score of 1079 with 44 Centers. We would like to also announce that one of our shooters, Camdyn Thornton qualified for state with a final score of 293 and 19 centers.
Girls Wrestling:
-Girls Wrestling team competed in the Area Tournament in Houston County and came away with one qualifier in Emalee Hendrix.
Basketball:
-Varsity Girls over Woodville by a score of 61 - 22
-Varsity Boys fall to Benedictine by a score of 58 - 71

-Varsity Wrestling competed in the 1 - AAAA Area Tournament in Perry. The Gators ran away with the tournament by scoring 278 points overall and qualifying all 14 weight classes for the GHSA East Sectional this week. Individual tournament champions are as follows:
