Athletic Results 12/9/2023
It was a very busy weekend for the Gators. First off the Wrestling team traveled to Effingham for the 22nd Rebel invitational. The Gators finished 3rd out of 24 teams with six placers. Jordan Maxwell competed at the 113 lb weight class and finished 6th. Rodrigo Reyes competed at the 126 lb weight class and finished 5th. Gunter Fore competed at the 157 lb weight class and finished 6th. Wyatt Deal competed at the 175 lb weight class and was the tournament champion. Noah Lucas competed at the 190 lb weight class and came in second. While Jebare George competed at the 285 lb weight class and lost to the defending state champion to finish 2nd. The 9th Grade Girls came away with the victory by a score of 37 - 29 while the 9th Grade Boys won by a score of 51 - 36. The Varsity Girls team was off while the Varsity Boys team traveled to Wheeler High School to take on Heritage High in the Battle at the Peach. The Gators fell in a tough one by a score of 51 - 37. Our Gator Swim Team Hosted the Gator Invitational and both girls and boys came in second out of the 4 and 5 team field respectively.

It's a jammed packed day of action for the Gators today.
-Wrestling will be in Effingham for Day 2 of the Rebel Invitational.
-Swim is hosting the Gator Invitational at the YMCA.
-9th grade girls and boys basketball is hosting Coffee County in the Gator Den. Girls tipoff at 10:00 AM while the boys will follow. tickets are set at $7.00 and can be purchased at the gate or gofan.co.
-Varsity Boys Basketball travels to Wheeler High School to take on Heritage in The Battle at the Peach Tournament. Tipoff is set for 9:00 PM.

-JV Boys Basketball defeats Brantley by a score of 42 - 7 (5 - 0)
-Varsity Girls Basketball defeats Brantley by a score of 48 - 18 (3 - 0)
-Varsity Boys Basketball defeats Brantley by a score of 79 - 58 (4 - 1)
Wrestling:
-Ware defeats TCC on the road by a score of 40 - 36
-Ware defeats Lowndes on the road by a score of 48 - 18

Gators are in action again today. The wrestling team will head over to Lowndes for a Tri Meet. First match is set to begin at 5:00 PM. Basketball will be in action at home in the Gator Den as they host the Herons of Brantley County. JV Boys are set to tipoff at 4:30 PM. Varsity Girls action will begin at 6:00 PM. The Gator Basketball teams had a huge Friday evening Vs. Glynn Academy. The JV Girls defeated Glynn by a score of 44 - 11. The JV Boys would follow this with a win by a score of 51 - 20. The Varsity action netted the Lady Gators win number 2 on the evening by ousting the Terrors by a score of 53 - 48. The Varsity Boys would play a very hard fault game but fell in a nail biter by a score of 76 - 74. Up next for the Gators Basketball Team will be Tuesday 12/5/2023 in the Gator Den as we host the Herons of Brantley County. Action will start at 4:00 PM with the JV Boys. Varsity Girls will tipoff at 6:00 PM. The nightcap will be the Varsity Boys scheduled for 7:30 PM. Swim:
Ware County Lady Gator Swimmer Sophie Cochran will be going to compete at State in the Girls 100 yard Breaststroke in the coming weeks. Sophie had a qualifying time of 1:14.24 for her event.
Ware Co Boys 200 yard Freestyle Relay team are State Bound! The Boys were able to make a State Qualifying time of 1:39.98 tonight at the Ware County Gator Crawl Invitational. The swimmers include Matthew McIntire, Evan Chaney, Matthew Davis and Joshua Smith.
In team results the girls finished 4th while the boys finished 5th in the meet.

-Girls Basketball defeated Wayne County in Jeff - Davis by a score of 43 - 36. The Lady Gators move to 2 - 0.
-Boys Basketball defeated Groves in Valdosta by a score of 83 - 83 - 63. Jarvis Wright was the player of the game with 34 points and 4 rebounds. Te'Zhan Bolds had 14 points and 10 rebounds, Darius Ward and Kevin Ramsey had 10 points and 4 rebounds. The gators move to 2 - 0.
-Wrestling travelled to Effingham and competed in the Blue Line Duals. The Gators came away after an excellent tournament with a 3 - 2 record. Results are as follows:
