TATTNALL COUNTY, GA – October 7, 2026 – The Ware County Lady Gators Softball Team hit the road Wednesday afternoon and turned in an impressive performance, shutting out the Tattnall County Battle Creek Warriors 4-0 in a non-region matchup. Behind an outstanding pitching performance from Reagan Middleton and a productive offensive effort, the Lady Gators earned another victory as they continue their push toward postseason play.
Middleton was the difference-maker in the circle for Ware County, keeping the Battle Creek offense off the scoreboard throughout the contest. Her strong pitching performance, combined with solid defensive play behind her, allowed the Lady Gators to maintain control of the game.
After three scoreless innings, Ware County broke through in the top of the fourth inning. The Lady Gators took advantage of a passed ball to bring home the game's first run and grab a 1-0 advantage. Ware County continued to apply offensive pressure throughout the afternoon, eventually extending its lead to four runs.
The Lady Gators finished the contest with 10 hits, led by Middleton, who helped her own cause with an impressive 3-for-4 performance at the plate. Kara Coleman also enjoyed a strong afternoon offensively, collecting two hits in four at-bats.
Cassidy Lee, Middleton, and Mattie Forsyth each contributed an RBI in the victory as Ware County received production from several spots in the lineup.
Tattnall County pitcher Brylee Lott worked all seven innings for the Battle Creek Warriors, allowing 10 hits and four runs, three earned, while recording three strikeouts and one walk. Ava Crosby accounted for one of Tattnall County's hits, finishing 1-for-2.
The Lady Gators' ability to generate opportunities offensively, combined with Middleton's shutout performance, proved to be the winning combination. The 4-0 victory was another encouraging showing for Ware County as the team continues working to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.
