The Ware County Lady Gators Volleyball Team traveled to Statesboro on Thursday, September 24, for a playdate against Region 1-AAAAA opponent Statesboro and Effingham County.
It was a challenging afternoon on the court for Ware County, but the Lady Gators continued to compete and gain valuable experience as the season moves forward.
The varsity Lady Gators faced Statesboro in region competition and Effingham County in the second matchup of the playdate. Ware County battled throughout both matches but fell in straight sets to the Blue Devils and Rebels.
While the results did not go the Lady Gators’ way, the group continues to work through adjustments and search for the right combination on the court. The focus remains on improving each time out, playing together and continuing to compete through the challenges that come during a long season.
Ware County’s younger teams also saw action in Statesboro. JV Green squared off against Statesboro’s JV squad and fell in straight sets, while JV Gold took on Effingham County and also came up short in straight sets.
Each match provides another opportunity for the Lady Gators to gain experience and continue their development. Ware County will look to take what it learned Thursday and carry it back into the gym as the team prepares for its next home date.
