WAYCROSS, GA - A busy week is ahead for Ware County Athletics as the Gators and Lady Gators return to competition across softball, volleyball, football, and cross country. Several important region contests highlight the schedule, while Gator Nation will also have multiple opportunities to support the Green and Gold at home.
Tuesday, September 1
The week gets underway Tuesday with a pair of home events featuring Lady Gator Softball and Volleyball.
Lady Gator Varsity Softball will celebrate Senior Night as they welcome the Jenkins Lady Warriors to Gator Field for a Region 1-AAAAA matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 PM as the Lady Gators look to protect their home field and pick up an important victory in region play.
Inside the Gator Den, Lady Gator Volleyball will also be in action, hosting Evans and Clinch County for a multi-team evening of volleyball. All Lady Gator teams are scheduled to compete, with action beginning at 4:30 PM.
With softball and volleyball both competing at home, Tuesday provides Gator Nation with a great opportunity to come out and support the Green and Gold!
Wednesday, September 2
Lady Gator Softball hits the road Wednesday for a short trip to take on Atkinson County.
The JV Lady Gators will get the afternoon started with first pitch scheduled for 4:00 PM, followed by the Varsity Lady Gators at 6:00 PM.
It will be a quick turnaround for the varsity squad following Tuesday's region contest as the Lady Gators continue through a busy stretch of their schedule.
Thursday, September 3
Thursday brings a packed slate with four Ware County athletic programs in action.
Lady Gator Varsity Softball returns to region competition with a road trip to Statesboro to battle the Lady Blue Devils. First pitch in the Region 1-AAAAA matchup is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
JV Gator Football will also be on the road Thursday, traveling to Fitzgerald for a 5:00 PM kickoff.
Back home in Waycross, the Lady Gator Volleyball program returns to the Gator Den to host Georgia Christian School and Colquitt County. All Lady Gator teams are scheduled to compete, with the first matches beginning at 4:30 PM.
Rounding out Thursday's action, Ware County Cross Country travels to compete in a multi team meet in Wayne County. Both the girls and boys teams are scheduled to compete, with the meet beginning at 5:15 PM.
Another Big Week for the Green and Gold
From the Gator Den and Gator Field to road trips across South Georgia, Ware County student-athletes will have plenty of opportunities to represent the Green and Gold this week.
Region competition will be especially important, with Lady Gator Softball facing Jenkins and Statesboro as the race through the Region 1-AAAAA schedule continues.
