TIFTON, GA - Thursday, August 27, 2026 - The Ware County Lady Gators Volleyball program hit the road Thursday afternoon for a multi-team playdate at Tift County, taking on the Tift County Blue Devils and the Appling County Pirates. The Lady Gators competed throughout the afternoon, highlighted by a strong varsity response and a straight-set victory over Appling County.
JV Lady Gators Battle Tift County
The JV Green Lady Gators came out ready to compete against Tift County and captured the opening set.
JV Gold followed with a battle of its own in the second set, but Tift County responded to even the match and force a third and deciding set. The two teams went back and forth before the Blue Devils eventually secured the third set, 15-12, to take the hard-fought match.
Against Appling County, both JV Green and JV Gold continued to compete hard, but the Lady Pirates were able to come away with the match.
Despite the results, the JV Lady Gators continued to gain valuable match experience and showed plenty of fight throughout the afternoon.
Varsity Lady Gators Bounce Back
The Ware County varsity squad finished its trip to Tifton with a 1-1 record.
The Lady Gators opened against Tift County, where the Blue Devils earned the victory in straight sets. Ware County didn't allow the opening loss to define the day, however, as the Lady Gators quickly regrouped for their second match against Appling County.
Ware County responded in impressive fashion.
The Lady Gators captured the opening set against the Pirates, 25-22, before closing out the match with a 25-21 victory in the second set to complete the straight-set sweep.

It was a strong response from the Lady Gators and another example of the team's ability to continue competing after adversity. Every match provides another opportunity to learn, grow and improve as Ware County continues working through the 2026 season.

The Lady Gators return home on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, for another big night of volleyball inside the Gator Den.
Ware County will host Region 1-AAAAA opponent Evans along with Clinch County, with the action scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM.
Admission is $8.00, with tickets available online through GoFan or at the gate.
