The Ware County Lady Gators Volleyball program hit the road Tuesday, August 11, traveling to Bradwell Institute for a multi-team event featuring the Lady Gators, Bradwell Institute Tigers, and Camden County Wildcats.

While the final results did not all fall Ware County’s way, the Lady Gators continued to show effort, determination, and plenty of fight across the JV Green, JV Gold, and Varsity matches.

JV Green Shows Bright Spots Against Bradwell

The JV Green Lady Gators faced host Bradwell Institute and fell to the Tigers in straight sets.

Ware County battled throughout the match but was unable to overcome several unforced errors that made it difficult to establish consistency. Despite the setback, the Lady Gators had several encouraging moments offensively.

Aubrey Bertholf, Natalie Booth, and MaKenzie Scriven each recorded a kill for Ware County, providing some positive building blocks as the young Lady Gators continue developing early in the season.

JV Gold Pushes Camden to Three Sets

The JV Gold Lady Gators turned in one of the day's most competitive matches against Camden County.

Ware County came out strong and captured the opening set against the Wildcats. Camden responded by taking the second set, sending the match to a deciding third.

The Lady Gators continued to battle in the final set but ultimately came up just short. Even in defeat, Ware County's effort and energy remained strong until the final point.

Bronwyn Bennett provided a standout performance for the Lady Gators, delivering strong work from the service line while also making an impact with her hustle and effort throughout the match.

Varsity Lady Gators Face Tough Competition

Ware County's Varsity Lady Gators faced both Camden County and Bradwell Institute during Tuesday's action, falling to each opponent in straight sets.

Passing proved to be a challenge for Ware County throughout the day. Without consistent first contacts, the Lady Gators had difficulty getting into rhythm and establishing their offensive attack.

Still, Ariel Smith provided a spark for Ware County. Smith contributed from the service line, found opportunities with well-placed tips, and added a kill during the day's competition.

Building for What Comes Next

Tuesday's matches provided the Lady Gators with valuable early-season experience against quality competition. While the results were not what Ware County wanted, each match gave the coaching staff and players an opportunity to identify areas for improvement and continue building toward the remainder of the season.

The Lady Gators will look to clean up the unforced errors, improve their passing, and turn Tuesday's lessons into progress on the court.

There is plenty of volleyball still ahead, and this group has another opportunity each time it steps into the gym to get better.

Go Gators!
