WAYCROSS, GA - The postseason momentum rolls on for Ware County Gator Athletics as multiple programs continue their playoff journeys this week. With tennis, baseball, and track & field all in action, Gator Nation will have plenty of opportunities to follow along as the Green and Gold compete at a high level across the state.
The week features a mix of home and road contests, highlighted by key playoff matchups on the diamond and continued advancement opportunities on the courts and track.
🎾 Girls Tennis Opens the Week at Home
The Lady Gators Tennis Team will take the court on Tuesday, April 28th, hosting Cartersville at the Ware County Tennis Complex. First serve is set for 2:00 PM as the Lady Gators look to continue their strong postseason run in front of the home crowd.
⚾ Baseball Heads to Cartersville for Playoff Series
The Ware County Gators Baseball Team hits the road for a critical playoff series against Cartersville, beginning with a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 29th at 4:30 PM.
If necessary, the series will continue with a deciding game on Thursday, April 30th at 5:00 PM.
The Gators will look to carry their momentum from the opening round into this matchup as they battle for a spot deeper in the GHSA AAAA State Playoffs.
🎾 Boys Tennis Travels to Cedartown
Also on Wednesday, April 29th, the Gators Boys Tennis Team will travel to Cedartown for a 4:00 PM matchup. The Gators will aim to build on their postseason success and continue advancing through the state bracket.
🏃 Track & Field Competes in Sectionals
The week wraps up with the Ware County Track & Field Teams competing in the GHSA AAAA East Sectional Meet on Saturday, May 2nd at Morrow High School.
Field events and running prelims will begin at 10:00 AM, as the Gators look to qualify athletes for the GHSA State Championships.
