The Ware County Gator Track and Field teams traveled to Lowndes County on Wednesday to compete in a highly competitive multi-team meet, facing off against several strong programs from across South Georgia.
The meet provided valuable experience and showcased a number of solid performances from both the Lady Gators and the Gators as they continue to prepare for the postseason.
Lady Gators Highlights
The Lady Gators were led by several strong individual efforts throughout the meet. In the sprints, Azian Smith, Charmaine Farrell, and Ri’Janae Buford all competed in a deep 100-meter field, gaining valuable race experience against top competition.
In the 400-meter dash, Amaria Dukes paced Ware County with a time of 1:05.50, while the distance crew saw Faith Williams compete in both the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs, scoring points in each event.
The hurdles group turned in one of the top performances of the day, highlighted by Nadya Ellis, who placed 4th in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 50.36. Ri’Janae Buford also added points with a 6th place finish in the same event.
In the field events, Shidaviona Washington secured a top-10 finish in the long jump, while Aliyah White led the throwers with a 6th place finish in the shot put. Susana Coronado-Sanchez added points in the discus.
The Lady Gators relay teams continued to show progress, with the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x800 squads all earning points and valuable reps against strong competition.
Gators Highlights
On the boys side, the Gators were highlighted by a standout performance from Adarius Brown, who claimed 1st place in the high jump, clearing 6-9 to lead all competitors.
In the middle-distance events, Damari Bennett led Ware County in the 800-meter run with a strong 5th place finish, followed closely by Lorenzo Harris and Brock Payne, who also scored for the Gators.
The hurdles crew contributed solid performances as well, with Jawaun Leblanc placing 6th in the 110-meter hurdles and adding another top-10 finish in the 300-meter hurdles.
In the horizontal jumps, Cameron King delivered a strong showing with a 4th place finish in the long jump and tied for 2nd in the triple jump, leading the Gators in the field events.
The distance group saw Josias Solorio score in the 3200-meter run, while the 4x800 relay team also added points with a solid performance.
Looking Ahead
The Lowndes meet provided a strong test for the Gators as they continue to build momentum late in the season. Competing against high-level competition allowed Ware County to evaluate performances, fine-tune race strategies, and continue progressing toward region and state competition.

The Gator Track and Field teams will return to action on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, as they travel to Wayne County for the Region 1-AAAA Track Meet Prelims. The Finals will follow on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Events on both days are scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM.
