Game 1: Gators Roll Behind Sweat’s Big Night
Ware County set the tone early and never looked back in a 10-0 victory in Game 1. The Gators capitalized on early opportunities to take the lead and continued to build momentum throughout the game.
Slade Sweat led the offensive charge with an outstanding performance at the plate, collecting three hits, including a home run, double, and single. His ability to drive the baseball and produce runs sparked the Gators’ offense from start to finish.
Ware County extended its lead in the middle innings, highlighted by a four-run fourth inning fueled by timely hitting and execution. Seth Suess delivered an RBI single, Sweat added a two-run home run to left field, and Keaton Holloway contributed with a sacrifice to bring in another run.
On the mound, Sweat was equally impressive, earning the win with a dominant outing. He allowed just three hits over five innings while striking out eight and walking none.
The Gators finished with nine hits in the contest. Suess and Collin Crawford each recorded multiple hits, while Isaiah White and Crawford applied pressure on the bases with multiple stolen bases. Ware County also showed discipline at the plate, drawing several walks and swiping eight bases overall.
