The Ware County Gators Varsity Baseball Team traveled to Warner Robins on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, and earned an impressive Region 1 - AAAA victory over the Demons by a score of 9-3.
Ware County was led by a dominant performance from Slade Sweat, who paced the offense with multiple extra-base hits and drove in four runs. Sweat came through in key moments, delivering a two-run double in the third inning and later adding a two-run home run in the fifth to help the Gators build separation.
The Gators got on the board in the third inning, taking advantage of early opportunities at the plate. Collin Crawford helped spark the inning, and Sweat’s two-run double pushed Ware County out in front. The offense continued to roll in the fifth, as Seth Suess added an RBI double before Sweat’s home run stretched the lead.
On the mound, Suess delivered a strong outing to earn the win. The right-hander worked five innings, allowing just one run while keeping the Demons off balance throughout the night. Eli Watkins came on in relief and provided a clean inning to help secure the victory.
At the plate, Suess also contributed with two hits, while Crawford created pressure on the bases with multiple stolen bases. Overall, the Gators used aggressive baserunning and timely hitting to stay in control of the game from the middle innings on.
Warner Robins battled throughout and turned several key defensive plays, but Ware County’s consistent offense and solid pitching proved to be the difference in the region matchup.
