The Ware County Gator Soccer teams traveled to Jesup on Friday, March 13, 2026, for an important Region 1 - AAAA matchup against the Wayne County Yellow Jackets. Both contests were tightly contested throughout the evening as the Gators battled one of their region rivals on the road.
In the girls’ match, the Lady Gators fell by a score of 4 - 1. Despite the loss, Ware County continued to fight throughout the contest, with Isabella Sweat scoring the lone goal for the Lady Gators.
The boys’ match proved to be another competitive battle, with the Gators narrowly falling 3 - 2. Ware County received goals from Alejandro Sanchez and Nando Hernandez, keeping the game close throughout the night before Wayne County secured the victory.
Both teams will now look to regroup as they continue region play and a busy stretch of games in the coming days.
