The Ware County Gator Track and Field teams delivered an impressive performance on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, hosting McIntosh County Academy and Brantley County at the Ware County Track Complex. Both the Lady Gators and the Gator boys showcased strong depth across the track and field events, earning decisive victories in the team standings.

At the conclusion of the meet, the Lady Gators captured first place with 207 points, finishing ahead of Brantley County (140) and McIntosh County Academy (66). The Gator boys also dominated the competition, winning the team title with 310 points, followed by Brantley County (130) and McIntosh County Academy (55).

Lady Gators Highlights

Ware County saw strong performances in the sprint events. Azian Smith led the way in the 100-meter dash, capturing first place with a time of 13.35, while teammates Makayla Smith and Kaaden Kitchen also placed in the top five.

In the 200-meter dash, the Lady Gators finished first and second as Shidaviona Washington clocked a winning time of 27.53, followed closely by Shakira Lane in 27.87.

Ware County also swept the 400-meter dash, with Amaria Dukes taking first place in 1:10.58, followed by Heaven Orange and Rihanna Bolds.

In the hurdles events, Nadya Ellis delivered a standout performance, winning both the 100-meter hurdles (17.95) and the 300-meter hurdles (56.17). Alexia Sherman finished second in the 300-meter hurdles and third in the 100-meter hurdles.

The Lady Gators’ relay teams also performed well, with Ware County claiming first place in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 52.35.

In the field events, Shidaviona Washington added another victory in the long jump, recording a mark of 14-5, while Rihanna Bolds placed second. In the throwing events, Cami Barnes tied for first place in the shot put (26-4) and added a fourth-place finish in the discus.

Distance runner Faith Williams captured first place in the 3200-meter run and also placed third in the 1600-meter run, adding valuable points for Ware County.

Gator Boys Highlights

The Gator boys turned in a dominant showing across multiple events.

In the sprint events, Rykeil Kitchen finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.18, while Brandon Young also placed in the top five. Kitchen returned to win the 200-meter dash (23.63), with teammate Jalondi O’Hara finishing second.

The Gators controlled the 400-meter dash, led by Adrien Barkley, who won the event in 54.34, followed by teammates Damari Bennett and Brayden Butler among the top finishers.

In the hurdles, Jawaun Leblanc earned a victory in the 300-meter hurdles (48.58) and also finished second in the 110-meter hurdles. Daniel Tripp added a second-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles.

Ware County’s relay teams continued the momentum, winning both the 4x100-meter relay (43.98) and the 4x200-meter relay (1:38.82).

The distance events also produced strong finishes, highlighted by Damari Bennett winning the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.32, while Giovanni Solorio captured the 3200-meter run.

In the field events, Adarius Brown soared to first place in the high jump with a clearance of 6-7. The Gators also dominated the jumping events as Cameron King tied for first in the long jump (20-3) and later won the triple jump (43-4). Teammate Savion Love also placed in the top spots in both events.

The throwing events added more points for the Gators as Kyler Matthews claimed first place in the shot put with a throw of 42-4, while Damarious Dennis and Uriah Benefield also finished among the top competitors.

The boys 4x800-meter relay team capped the evening with a victory in 9:26.00, further adding to Ware County’s commanding team total.

With numerous first-place finishes and strong performances across nearly every event, the Gator track and field teams delivered an outstanding showing in front of the home crowd.

The Ware County teams will now continue their season as they prepare for upcoming meets later this spring.
