The Ware County Gators tennis teams traveled to Perry on Thursday, March 5, 2026, for a Region 1 - AAAA showdown against the Panthers and returned home with impressive victories from both the girls and boys squads.

The Lady Gators delivered a dominant performance, shutting out Perry with a 5 - 0 victory. Ware County controlled the match from the start, sweeping all singles and doubles positions in convincing fashion.

In singles play, Bailey Denton, Elly Blackrick, and Paislee Wildes each earned strong straight-set victories to give Ware County early momentum. The dominance continued in doubles competition as Kayleigh LeMay and Gracie Vickers kept their undefeated partnership intact with another straight-set win. The duo of Callie Lewis and Izzy Tatum also secured a straight-set victory to complete the Lady Gators’ clean sweep.

The Gators boys team followed with a strong performance of their own, defeating the Panthers 4 - 1 to secure another important region victory.

Ware County controlled singles play, sweeping all three matches. JV Manabat, Cash Carter, and Miles Smith each earned convincing straight-set wins to give the Gators a strong advantage in the team score.

In doubles play, Landon Lingenfelter and Eli Cook delivered one of the most exciting matches of the day. After dropping the opening set, the pair battled back to win the second set before completing the comeback with a dramatic third-set tiebreak victory.

With the region victories, the Gators continue to build momentum as the season progresses.

Ware County will return to the courts this weekend as both teams compete in the Viking Invitational, hosted by Lowndes County at McKey Park in Valdosta on Friday and Saturday. The tournament will provide another strong test for the Gators as they prepare for the remainder of the region schedule.
