The Ware County Lady Gators Soccer program hosted a busy night on the pitch, with both the junior varsity and varsity squads taking the field against regional competition. While the JV Lady Gators battled hard but came up short, the varsity team delivered a strong performance to secure a shutout victory.
The JV Lady Gators opened the evening against Coffee County and showed determination throughout the contest. Despite their effort and moments of solid defensive play, Ware County fell by a final score of 3-1. The JV squad continued to compete until the final whistle, gaining valuable experience as the young group continues to develop chemistry and confidence early in the season.
In the nightcap, the Varsity Lady Gators turned in a commanding performance against Appling County, earning a 2-0 victory in front of the home crowd. Ware County controlled much of the tempo and created consistent scoring opportunities, ultimately breaking through with timely finishes.
Sloan Zachary opened the scoring for the Lady Gators, setting the tone offensively. Later in the match, Jenisyn Bethea added an insurance goal to secure the shutout win. Ware County’s defensive unit remained organized and composed, limiting Appling County’s chances and preserving the clean sheet.
Following the match, Ava Musgrove, Layla Evans, and Jenisyn Bethea were recognized with Woman of the Match honors for their outstanding efforts and impact on the game.
