The Ware County Gators Tennis Teams welcomed the Camden County Wildcats to WCHS on Monday, February 9, 2026, for an afternoon of competitive tennis, highlighted by a strong showing from the Lady Gators.
On the girls’ side, Ware County delivered an impressive 4 - 1 victory over Camden. The Lady Gators found success across the lineup, starting in singles play where Addie Bishop earned a win at second singles and Ella Beth Cox picked up a victory at third singles. In doubles action, Ware County continued to roll, as the first doubles team of Kayleigh LeMay and Paislee Wildes secured a key win, while Callie Lewis and Gracie Vickers closed out the match with a victory at second doubles. Elly Blackrick also turned in a strong performance, competing hard throughout her match and contributing to the team’s overall effort.
The boys’ team faced a challenging matchup against a deep Camden squad and ultimately fell by a score of 5 - 0. Despite the final result, there were bright spots for the Gators, most notably from junior Ashton Stormant, who competed in his first varsity action. Stormant pushed his opponent to two tiebreakers, narrowly dropping the match 6 - 7, 6 - 7, showing grit and promise moving forward.
Both Ware County tennis teams will be right back in action on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, as the Gators hit the road to Brantley County to take on the Herons. First serve is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
