The Ware County Gator Rifle Team earned a strong home victory on Monday, February 9, 2026, hosting Groves in a virtual match from the Ware County Rifle Range due to transportation issues. Despite competing remotely, both teams shot well, with the Gators rising to the occasion and securing the win.

Ware County finished with a team score of 1154 with 57 centers, while Groves posted a final score of 973. The match was fired in the 3x10 Air Rifle course of fire, and the Gators showed consistency and depth across multiple squads.

Leading the way was Ware A, which topped the field with an impressive 1154–57. Individually, Gabbie Howard turned in a standout performance, posting a 292 aggregate with 17 centers, followed closely by Angel Hernandez (289–15) and Autumn Buskirk (288–13). Solid contributions from Camdyn Thornton, Grant Johnson, and Mason Briggs rounded out the top squad.

Ware County’s depth was on full display as Ware 4-H placed second overall with a score of 1100–39, paced by Greyson Christmas, who fired an outstanding 293–17, including perfect 100s in both kneeling and prone. Ware B followed closely behind in third at 1071–24, while Ware C also gained valuable match experience in the competitive field.

Groves was led by Sean-Michael Reel, who recorded a 261 aggregate, as their team competed hard throughout the virtual contest.

Overall, it was a productive and successful night for the Ware County Gator Rifle Team, showcasing strong marksmanship and teamwork across the program.
