1/30/2026: Gator Rifle Shooters Dominate at Home Range Against Southeast Bulloch
The Ware County Gator Rifle Team put together another strong showing on Friday, January 30, 2026, hosting Southeast Bulloch High School at the Ware County Shooting Range in Waycross. Competing in the 3x10 Air Rifle course of fire, Ware County filled the top four team positions and controlled the match from start to finish.
Ware County A claimed the top spot overall with an impressive aggregate score of 1151-56, highlighted by balanced shooting across all three positions. Gabbie Howard led the way with a team-high 293-18, followed closely by Autumn Buskirk at 289-13 and Angel Hernandez with 286-11. Strong contributions from Camdyn Thornton, Aniston Pittman, Mason Briggs, and Grant Johnson helped the A team post the highest kneeling, prone, and standing totals of the match.
The Ware County 4-H squad finished second overall with a score of 1114-41. Greyson Christmas paced the group with a 284-12, while Aleeah Eason and Carson Caswell also delivered solid performances on the line.
Ware County B earned third place with a 1079-23 aggregate. Ben Dean led the B team with a 280-10, supported by steady shooting from Nicholas Hensley, Chloe Loper, and Paisley Graham. Close behind, Ware County C placed fourth with a team score of 1025-27, highlighted by Nathan Casavant’s strong kneeling and prone scores on his way to a 271-13 aggregate.
Southeast Bulloch finished fifth overall with a team total of 929-7, led by David Shoshone, who posted a 255-1.
With depth across multiple squads and consistent marksmanship throughout the lineup, the Gators once again showcased the strength of their rifle program on their home range.
