The Ware County Gator Rifle Team turned in another dominant home performance on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, hosting St. Vincent’s at the Ware County Rifle Range in Waycross and finishing atop the field in 3x10 Air Rifle competition.
Ware A claimed first place with a stellar team score of 1163 with 67 centers, separating themselves from the rest of the pack with consistent shooting across kneeling, prone, and standing positions. The Gators’ balance and depth once again proved to be the difference on their home range.
Leading the way for Ware was Gabbie Howard, who posted a strong 293 (17 centers), anchoring the lineup with near-flawless kneeling and prone scores. Autumn Buskirk followed closely with a 291 (16 centers), while Camdyn Thornton added a 290 (18 centers) to the team total. Angel Hernandez also had a productive night, finishing with 289 (16 centers), as multiple Gators stepped up to secure the top team finish.
St. Vincent’s finished second overall with a team score of 1117 (33 centers), paced by Audrey Angeletti’s 283 (8 centers). Ware 4-H rounded out the podium in third place with a score of 1112 (38 centers), highlighted by Greyson Christmas, who recorded a 288 (15 centers) and helped keep the competition tight throughout the match.
Ware County’s depth was on full display as additional squads also competed. Ware B finished fourth with a team score of 1063 (24 centers), while Ware C placed fifth, gaining valuable match experience and continuing the development of the program’s younger shooters.
The strong showing at home was another sign of the Gators’ steady progress this season as they continue to build momentum on the range.
