The Ware County Gator Rifle Team turned in an impressive showing on Thursday, January 22, 2026, hosting Windsor-Forest at the Ware County Shooting Range in a 3x10 Air Rifle match in Waycross.
Ware County demonstrated its depth by claiming the top three team finishes in the unofficial results. Ware A earned first place with a team aggregate score of 1156, posting strong totals in kneeling, prone, and standing. Grant Johnson led the squad with a 291 aggregate, while Autumn Buskirk (290), Camdyn Thornton (288), Gabbie Howard (287), Angel Hernandez (287), Mason Briggs (282), and Aniston Pittman (278) each played a key role in the victory.
Finishing second overall was Ware 4-H with a team total of 1088. Greyson Christmas paced the group with a 279 aggregate, followed by Allie Herrin (273), Eli Locklear (271), Carson Caswell (265), and Aleeah Eason (261).
Just behind them in third place was Ware B, which posted a score of 1085. Nicholas Hensley led Ware B with a 274 aggregate, while Ben Dean and Chloe Loper each added 273. Hayden Lang (265) and Paisley Graham (251) rounded out the scoring.
Windsor-Forest finished fourth with a team score of 1067, led by Mischa Connor’s 273 aggregate. Ware County also fielded a Ware C team that finished fifth with a total of 995, highlighted by Zakyira Perry (273) and Nathan Casavant (272).
Overall, the Gators showed consistent shooting across all three positions and highlighted the depth and strength of the Ware County rifle program.
The Gator Rifle Team will be right back on the range on Friday, January 23, 2026, when they host the Statesboro High School Blue Devils at the Ware County Shooting Range. The match is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.
