1/9/2026: Gators Sweep Perry on Rec Night in the Gator Den
The Ware County Gators delivered an exciting night of Region 1-AAAA basketball on Friday, January 9, 2026, hosting the Perry High Panthers for Rec. Night in a packed Gator Den. Fueled by the energy of local REC teams and a loud Gator Nation crowd, both varsity squads protected home court with impressive region victories.
The Lady Gators set the tone in the opener, using strong defensive pressure and disciplined offensive execution to earn a 46 - 36 win over Perry. The victory marked another important Region 1 - AAAA result as Ware County improved to 5 - 7 overall and 1 - 0 in region play, remaining unbeaten in Region 1-AAAA competition.
In the nightcap, the Varsity Boys followed with a dominant performance, rolling past the Panthers 65 - 38. The Gators controlled the game from start to finish, turning defense into offense and showcasing balanced scoring across the lineup. With the win, Ware County moved to 12–2 overall and 2–0 in Region 1 - AAAA.
Leading the way for the Gators was Masiyer “Moo Moo” McKoy with 17 points, while Davion Jones added 11 points and Ja’Londi O’Hara chipped in 10 points in the convincing region victory.
