Ware County High School will take center stage this Saturday, January 10, 2026, as the GHSA Region 1-AAAA Wrestling Dual Championships come to the Gator Den. With regional bragging rights and advancement on the line, the area’s top wrestling programs will square off in an action-packed day of team dual competition.

Location: The Gator Den – Ware County High School
700 Victory Drive, Waycross, GA
Weigh-ins: 9:00 a.m.
Doors Open: 9:00 a.m.
Wrestling Begins: 10:00 a.m.
Tickets: $10

Competing in this year’s Region 1-AAAA Duals are Ware County, Warner Robins, Benedictine Military School, Wayne County, Perry, and New Hampstead, ensuring a highly competitive field from start to finish.
Tournament Schedule & Format
The championships will open with Round 1 matchups:
Warner Robins vs. Benedictine Military School
Wayne County vs. Perry
In Round 2, host Ware County will enter the tournament, taking on the winner of the Warner Robins/Benedictine matchup, while the Round 1 losers will face off in a consolation dual.
A scheduled break will follow for the Senior Night Ceremony, honoring Ware County’s senior wrestlers for their commitment and contributions to the program.
The day will conclude with placement matches:
Round 3: 1st Place Match and 3rd Place Match
Round 4 (if necessary): True 2nd Place Match (if the 3rd place team did not previously wrestle the 2nd place team)
Fan Policies
Ware County High School will enforce its clear bag policy for all spectators. In addition, students must be under parental supervision to attend the event.
With a championship atmosphere, home-mat advantage, and a passionate Gator crowd expected, the stage is set for an outstanding day of wrestling in the Gator Den. Gator Nation is encouraged to come out, be loud, and support the green and gold as Region 1-AAAA crowns its dual champions.
