The Ware County Gators were busy on the hardwood Tuesday, January 6, 2026, with action taking place in both Florida and Savannah as the girls and boys programs continued their seasons.
Girls Basketball vs. Hilliard (FL)
The Lady Gators traveled south to Hilliard, Florida to take on the Red Flash and delivered a strong showing across both contests.
The JV Girls set the tone early, pulling away for an impressive 44 - 32 victory, showcasing balanced scoring and solid defensive pressure throughout the night.
In the Varsity matchup, the Varsity Girls battled hard but ultimately came up short, falling 44 - 37 in a competitive contest that stayed within reach until the final minutes.
Varsity Boys Open Region Play with Authority
Meanwhile, the Varsity Boys opened Region play on the road in Savannah against New Hampstead and left no doubt from the opening tip. The Gators cruised to a commanding 81 - 41 victory, moving to 11 - 2 overall and 1 - 0 in the Region.
Balanced scoring and relentless defense fueled the win, led by:
