The Ware County Gator Swim Team hosted a large and competitive field on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the YMCA in Waycross for the 2025 WARE Night Before Christmas Break Invite. The multi-team event featured schools and club programs from across South Georgia and provided the Gators an opportunity to compete against deep lineups as the season approaches the holiday break.
Ware County swimmers competed across the full slate of individual and relay events, gaining valuable race experience while scoring points in both individual races and relays. The meet concluded with Camden County earning the overall team title, while Ware County finished sixth in the combined team standings.
Gator Highlights
Senior Matthew Davis led the way for Ware County with an outstanding night in distance freestyle events. Davis placed second in the Boys 200 Yard Freestyle and captured a first-place finish in the Boys 500 Yard Freestyle, earning key points for the Gators.
On the girls’ side, Ava Bennett earned a podium finish in the Girls 500 Yard Freestyle, while Ware County’s girls relay teams showed determination and depth, finishing second in the Girls 400 Yard Freestyle Relay and competing in both freestyle relay events.

The Ware County Gator Swim Team will be back in action on Tuesday, January 10, 2025, when they travel to Coffee County for another multi-team meet. Competition is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.
Ware County continues to build depth and race experience as the Gators prepare for the second half of the swim season.
