The Ware County Gator Wrestling team traveled to McIntosh County Academy on Tuesday night to take on the Buccaneers in a single dual matchup. Facing lineup challenges that required several JV wrestlers to step into varsity roles, the Gators battled throughout the evening but ultimately came up just short, falling 36–38 in a tightly contested dual.

Despite the narrow loss, Ware County saw several strong performances. Wrestlers of the Night honors went to Chase Briggs and Antonio Birch, who both rose to the varsity challenge and delivered key pins to keep the Gators within striking distance of the Buccaneers.

Additional success on the mat came from Jadon Halladay, who earned a pin in his match. Ware County also benefited from several forfeit victories, with Ashton Cox (113), Cristian Martinez (113), and Maleek Mackey (165) picking up points for the Gators.

The Gators now turn their focus to the weekend ahead and look to bounce back with a replenished lineup as they travel to Valdosta to compete in the Wildcat Invitational.

Ware County Wrestling continues to show depth and determination as the season moves forward.
