The Ware County Lady Gators traveled to Richmond Hill on Tuesday, Nov. 25, hoping to carry momentum through the early part of their 2025 - 26 season. The home-standing Richmond Hill Wildcats defended their gym - and both the JV and Varsity squads from Ware County came up short.

Varsity - Wildcats 52, Lady Gators 35

According to MaxPreps, Richmond Hill took control in the non-conference showdown, earning a 52 - 35 win over the Lady Gators.

Although Ware County came in with a 2 - 0 record this season - fresh off a convincing win over Toombs County a day earlier - the Wildcats’ performance Tuesday evening held firm at home.

The loss drops Ware County to 2 - 1 on the season, per MaxPreps’ published records.

JV - A Fight to the Final Possession

As of publication time, MaxPreps had not posted official box-score statistics for the JV contest. The JV schedule page shows “No Schedule Found,” which indicates that this result (a 31 - 30 defeat) has not yet been uploaded by the team’s statistician.

Despite the missing official record, reports from the game suggest the JV Lady Gators battled hard - staying within one possession until the final buzzer. That kind of effort on the road bodes well for future development, even if the result was disappointing.

What’s Next - Gators Back in Action After Thanksgiving

The Lady Gators will enjoy a short Thanksgiving break before returning to the court on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, when they travel to Valdosta for a full evening of games against the Wildcats. According to the published schedule: JV girls tip off at 4:30 PM, Varsity girls at 6:00 PM, followed by the Varsity boys at 7:00 PM. Tickets for the games are available online at gofan.co.

Given the early-season loss, the Lady Gators will look to regroup over the break, refine their chemistry, and come out ready to compete in Valdosta. A strong response there could set an early tone for the rest of their non-region slate.
