WAYCROSS, GA - November 8, 2025
The Ware County Wrestling Team opened its 2025–2026 season in dominant fashion on Saturday, hosting the 17th Annual Taylor Bristow Memorial Swamp Duals inside The Swamp. The Gators finished the day undefeated (5–0) to claim 1st Place Overall and the Tournament Championship.
Pool A Results
The Gators rolled through Pool A with several decisive victories:
Round 1: Ware County 70 - Greenbrier “B” 0
Round 2: Bye
Round 3: Ware County 61 - Brantley County 15
Round 4: Ware County 71 - Jenkins 12
Round 5: Ware County 53 - Lee County 24
The win over Lee County secured the Pool A title and advanced the Gators to the championship match.
Championship Final
In the finals, Ware County faced off with Effingham County. The Gators continued their dominant performance, earning a 54 - 27 victory over the Rebels to capture the 17th Annual Taylor Bristow Memorial Swamp Duals Championship.
Grapplers of the Day
Two standout performances led the way for Ware County:
Noah Paul (126 lbs) - 5-0 record with 5 pinfalls
Evan Thomas (144 lbs) - 5-0 record with 5 pinfalls
Both wrestlers maximized bonus points in every match and were recognized as the Grapplers of the Day.
Looking Ahead
The Ware County Wrestling Gators start the season 5–0 in duals and will be back on the mat this Saturday, November 15, traveling to Brantley County for the Battle at the Bay Tournament. Wrestling action is set to begin at 9:00 AM.
