The Ware County Lady Gators battled back in impressive fashion Tuesday night, October 7, 2025, to earn a 16-7 road victory over the Tattnall County Battle Creek Warriors.

Teriayn Kirkland was the offensive catalyst for the Lady Gators, driving in four runs on two clutch doubles during the team’s explosive sixth inning. Her timely hits helped spark a comeback that turned a 6-2 deficit into a commanding win.

Tattnall County struck first, scoring once in the first on a single by Jency Thompson and adding runs in the second and third innings to take a 3-0 lead. The Warriors extended their advantage to 6-2 in the fourth before Ware County’s bats came alive.

The Lady Gators erupted for 12 runs on nine hits in the top of the sixth inning to seize control of the game. Kirkland’s bases-clearing double was the highlight of the inning, capping an incredible offensive surge that overwhelmed the Warriors.

Kayleigh LeMay started in the circle for Ware County, tossing three innings and allowing seven hits and three runs (two earned) while striking out one. Kirkland and Mattie Forsyth entered in relief and helped secure the victory.

Ware County’s lineup was hot from top to bottom, pounding out 14 hits on the night. Forsyth and Kallie Lairsey each went 3-for-4, while Ella Musgrove and Amberley Padgett both tallied multiple hits. The Lady Gators also showed patience at the plate, drawing eight walks—led by Cassidy Lee, Kara Coleman, and Musgrove with two each.

Tattnall County finished with 10 hits, led by Jency Thompson’s 3-for-4 performance that included four RBIs. The Warriors also stole five bases, with Molly Thompson swiping two.

With the win, the Lady Gators continue to build momentum as postseason play approaches.
